Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio on Windows 8 Consumer Preview

Currently there are two sets of tools for Visual Studio, the first works with Visual Studio 2010 and the second works with Visual Studio 2012 RC. There are no tools available with Visual Studio 11 Beta. Unfortunately, the Visual Studio 2012 RC fails to install on Window 8 Consumer Preview. The install gets blocked right at the beginning stating that “.Net Framework 4.5.50501” is required.  You would have to upgrade the operating system to Windows 8 Release Preview. (http://www.windows8update.com/download-windows-8-release-candidate-rc/) The only option to use the Azure tools on Consumer Preview is with Visual Studio 2010. (http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/express) Then you can use the 2010 version of the tools. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=128752
